Road closure and diversion of the A22 Godstone Road

We are undertaking crucial improvement works in Purley during the Summer holidays of 2023, reducing the risk of future water supply failures in the area. This will mean the road up to the Purley Cross roundabout, a section of the A22 Godstone Road, will be closed and traffic diversions will be put in place for six weeks.
The road closure will be in effect from Saturday 22 July 2023 until Sunday 3 September 2023. There will be clear signage in place before and during the diversions, which will direct traffic through Coulsdon, Redhill, Godstone, and Whyteleafe.
We supply more than 160 million litres of clean water every day to over 745,000 people in parts of Surrey, Kent and south London. Our supply area is 322 square miles extending from Morden and South Croydon in the north to Gatwick Airport in the south and from Cobham, Leatherhead and Dorking in the west to Edenbridge in the east.
